Zhao Yaozong and his family travel to Kusu Island to pray for blessings. Each of them has a wish. Along the way, Yaozong meets an old lady selling tissue paper. She claims that buying her tissue will grant the buyer a wish via a magic coin

Yaozong becomes a hero at work when Power Boy loses control during a programme. He manages to keep his job and do his family proud. Shanmei confiscates Xiaomin’s mobile phone after catching her sneaking out to see her idol. Xiaomin ignores her mother.

Youting and his grandfather are taken to the police station for trying to help Cai Hua, who does not have a work permit. Yaozong tells Shiming that Enlai added laxative to Power Boy’s food.

Shanmei explains that she has been trying to change her family, as she knows she has little time left. Chenglong feels guilty that he had hated his mother for forcing him to study

Cai Hua decides to resign. Mrs Zhao accuses her of theft, but later discovers it was Chenglong who had taken the money. After being scolded by her husband, she leaves home. Mr Zhao worries when his wife does not come home.

Yaozong makes a wish with the coin, and Shanmei really does pull through. After her ordeal, she tells him the coin-wishing scheme was a scam but he refuses to believe her. Yaozong’s mother suggests returning to Kusu Island

Yaozong makes a wish, and really does win $3 million in the Toto draw. On the way to collect the money, he loses his ticket to a snatch thief. However, an accident returns the ticket to Yaozong’s hand.

Xiaomin survives but loses her two legs. Guilt-stricken, Yaozong tells Shanmei that Xiaomin’s loss of her legs is probably the price for his Toto wish. The old lady refuses to take back the other two coins and tells Yaozong off.

The Zhaos are terrified at the sight of the coins. However, Xiaomin is anxious for Yaozong to use a coin to wish for her legs back. He refuses, for fear something worse may happen. Yaozong dreams about using the coin to help Xiaomin.

Yaozong and his family return home in time to stop Yaozu and Anna from making any wishes. The couple claims they want to fulfill Mrs Zhao’s wish to have a grandchild. Youting is busy with the renovations at the gym.

Xiaomin is shocked Junhao’s wish is to win the Toto draw. Yaozong and Youting beat him up for lying to her. Xiaomin regrets getting her family into trouble, and is relieved when Shanmei reveals she had put fake coins in the safe.

Yaozu really does wish for a child. Relieved, Yaozong and Shanmei do not realise he and Anna had lied about the pregnancy and miscarriage, to con them of the coin. Their wish for a child was made without the coin.

Shanmei believes the coin is with one of her family members. She worries, as she has had a nightmare about the entire family dying. Yaozong and Shanmei suspect Mr Zhao has dementia.

Shanmei meets the old lady who sells tissue paper and implores her to take back the magic coins. The old lady is aware the coins are missing. She warns that when Yaozong has made all three wishes, she will take his life.

Youting manages to flee with the coin, but regrets it and returns home. He begs his family for forgiveness. Just then, the police turn up to arrest him for hurting his grandfather.

Yaozong secretly uses the magic coin to wish his father would survive. Mr Zhao comes round, and reveals the truth. Yaozu is arrested. Youting is about to go to prison. So as not to be a burden to Winnie, he asks her to leave.

Yaozong suddenly loses his memories of life after age 10. He cannot remember who Shanmei and his children are. The Zhaos realise his amnesia is the price he has to pay for using the magic coin.

In an effort to con Yaozong into taking out the last coin, Anna pretends to miss Yaozu. She suggests Yaozong should undergo hypnosis to remember the past. Yaozong agrees to see a psychiatrist.

Shanmei and Xiaomin find the coin before Yaozong and Anna arrive. When Anna fails to find the coin, she tries to force Yaozong to recall where he had hidden it. Shanmei makes plans to retaliate and show Anna’s true colours.

The Zhaos do not dare to inform the police that Chenglong has been kidnapped. When Yaozu discovers what Anna has done, he tries in vain to convince her to give her plan up.
