2040 is Singapore's deadline to phase out internal combustion engines. Which means - there won't be any cars running solely on petrol or diesel on our roads in 20 years. Right now, only about five per cent of vehicles in Singapore are "green" - hybrid or electric. There are more incentives rolled out from next year onwards aimed towards promoting the use of electric cars - but are they enough ? Are green cars really as environmentally friendly as they made out to be ? Is there a better, cleaner alternative to electric vehicles ? - Joshua Lim investigates.
