The British set up a Jungle Warfare Training School in Malaysia in the late 1940s to train men to fight in a jungle environment. Jamil Amin, a Singapore Platoon Commander in 1968, recalls the experience of training with the British and the Vietnamese who were preparing to fight in the Vietnam War.
